 MacDermid Autotype is a world leader in producing precision nano and micro structures onto film substrates. Our excellence depends on our extensive, practical knowledge of the whole process from origination of the master structure right through to shipping a quality-controlled product. Few companies can match such an extensive skill base and network of proven partners. We specialise in medium-to-large volume replication, from 100’s to million’s of square metres of product produced on polyester, polycarbonate, PMMA and TAC substrates. We don’t do very small volume runs and we don’t do replicas on glass.
Our track record allows us to claim that the precision of our replication always matches the precision of the master structure. We are WYSIWYG - What you supply is what you get. If the master structure is 200nm moth-eye gratings, you get 200nm moth-eye replicas. If your data storage master has sub 40nm jitter characteristics, so do our replicas. If your master is 56um deep with walls sloping at 2deg, so are your replicas. If you can make a 4:1 aspect ratio (Depth/Width) master (and that’s very hard!) we can make 4:1 aspect ratio replicas.
In addition to great precision you also get great materials properties. Of course we will give you good adhesion, good temperature/humidity resistance, good flexibility. But if you need the replica to be hydrophilic, we can build in hydrophilicity. If you need it to be hydrophobic, we can build in hydrophobicity.
